Listen: Thick Shakes - Why Buy the Cow (EP)

If you miss the 60's and 70's garage-psychedelic-rock vibe or you dig music like that, then you are in for a treat. The Boston band, Thick Shakes, is refreshing that style in full force on their new 3 song EP Why Buy the Cow. The distorted effects, the fast paced music, and the vocals remind me of so many bands, I can't even list them. Yet, what makes them stand out, is they are making music that virtually does not exist anymore.

Thick Shakes (besides being a great band name) really shines on this EP. The first track, "Go Back to New York" hooked me in right away, repeating the song over 4 times right away.  The second track, "Neighbor's Goods" continues their garage sound, but a faster pace. Then the EP finishes with, "Banned from the Laundromat," which proves to be the nosiest track on the album (not a bad thing at all). It finishes under 2 minutes and the entire EP leaves you wanting to hear more. Listen to Thick Shakes Why Buy the Cow EP below.
