Artist: Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid is one of my favorite bands of all time, hands down. Even if you are not a reggae-rock fan, you have to respect their popularity considering they basically did it on their own. They combine similar vibes of Sublime, and were even signed by the late singer Bradley Nowell to Skunk Records in the late 90's.

The band started out in California between friends Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, who both play bass, guitar, and share vocals. They are two of the most talented musicians currently on the scene, and they sound just as good live. With the addition of Ryan Moran (RyMo), Oguer (OG) OconDeLa, and C-Money, their sound who be complete. In 2001, they created their own label, Stoopid Records and from then on would self release each of their albums.

The reason I say that you should respect Slightly Stoopid even if you don't dig the music is they have developed a dedicated following from Internet and word of mouth alone, as they get virtually no radio or television airplay. They constantly sell out venues all over the world and have become one of the biggest reggae rock acts of today.

They have released 7 albums, 1 EP, and a Live CD/DVD combo and are currently working on their next album. Slightly Stoopid's sound has developed since their first album, mixing in numerous genres. They originally had a more punk sound, which evolved into influences and elements of jazz, reggae, rock, and acoustic. Check out some good ass tracks that are catchy and chill. Slightly Stoopid should definitely be in your music collection.

Slightly Stoopid is one of the best performances to witness live, the vibes are the best!!

I havent gotten to see them live yet, they come to my area to play one of the clubs, but it always sells out in like a minute. I've seen Sublime with Rome and Dirty Heads live, stoopid should of played with them too!
