Throwback Album: Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers

Jurassic 5 was one of my favorite rap groups of all time (Still is) and I was really disappointed when they broke up in 2007. Yet, they brought me 4 great albums, one of my favorites was 2002's Power in Numbers. The 6 members were the freshest of their time with the alternative hip hop style and went from underground to relative mainstream success.

The album Power in Numbers peaked at #15 on the Billboard carts, which was huge for the group. The album also had one of my favorite tracks, "What's Golden," which easily made this one of my favorite albums by them. Now, I didn't just chose the album based on that song alone, the entire album is solid from beginning to end. This was the album to me, that truly showed their growth and potential.

Hip hop is really missing out on more greatness that is Jurassic 5, although I do admit that the state of hip hop is improving. Jurassic 5 was one of those groups that had more to say than the average rapper, and their beats could always get your head bobbin'. Purchase the album here.

Some standout tracks: "A Day At the Races," "Freedom," "What's Golden," "Hey," and "If You Only Knew"
