Throwback Album: Muse - Absolution

The British rock band Muse is one epic band. That is really that all needs to be said. The prog-alt-rock trio has been making their intricate music since the 90's. However, their explosion to stardom in the US I really think stared with 2003's Absolution.

This is the album that at the time, first introduced me to the Muse as well. I was hooked the moment I heard and saw the video for "Time is Running Out." With leader singer Matthew Bellamy's soaring vocals and guitar, I could not believe I had missed the bands past two albums. Yet, this really did break the Muse to not only the US, but all over the world. Since that album, they have found huge success and they totally deserve it.

Absolution is one of those albums that are a instant classic and to this day I still blast "Time is Running Out," and "Hysteria,"  anytime they come on the radio. But, the overall album is great from start to finish. At this point I would assume almost all of you at least heard of the Muse, but I recommend buying this album along with their others.

Standout tracks: "Time is Running Out," "Hysteria," "Stockholm Syndrome," "Sing for Absolution," "Butterflies and Hurricanes," and "Apocalypse Please."
