Earlier this year, way back in wintertime, I was digging the hell out of the song "Ungirthed" by a group who I knew very little about called Purity Ring. Now some more details have emerged about the project that showed a lot of talent in that one brief song.
Purity Ring is the experimental, self-proclaimed "future pop" duo of Megan James and Corin Roderick from Canada. The two live in two different cities and they send their musical ideas back and forth to one another until a song is done. They already had two great songs to their name ("Loftcries" is the other one), and now their newest track, "Belispeak", which dropped this week, is another. It may be the best one yet, which makes me very excited for their debut album. "Belispeak" will be released as a split 7" with Braids via the Fat Possum label. Listen to it below.
