For those who don't know, Atlas Sound is the solo project of Bradford Cox, the lead singer of the very popular experimental band Deerhunter. His last couple Atlas Sound albums have garnered a lot of critical acclaim and earned him a lot more fans than he already had through Deerhunter. 2009's Logos was one of my favorite albums of the last few years; there's still a lot of songs from it that I listen to on a regular basis. So, I'm pretty excited that there is a new Atlas Sound album coming November 8, called Parallax. The first track from Parallax is an epic, mostly acoustic guitar jam called "Terra Incognita." This song is overflowing with detail both in the production and the lyrics. Download and listen below.
