Listen/Download: Josh Garrels - Love & War & The Sea In Between (Album)

Josh Garrels is a singer/songwriter out of Portland, Oregon. First off I am going to say that without ever being there, Portland is one of my favorite cities.. so Josh already had that going for him. The first album of his that I heard was Love & War & The Sea In Between which came out on June 15th, 2011 and is one of the greatest, well put together albums I have found in a while.

The diversity of the songs on this album and the way that they are put together completely blew my mind. The album starts off with the song "White Owl" which is a slower song out of the album but really shows Josh's skills in singing. Jump ahead to "Farther Along" where you get one of the most listened to songs from the album, and it is easy to notice once you listen to it. Now we're going to go straight to my personal favorite song on this album, which is "The Resistance". This song has that slower feel to it but Josh somewhat "raps" in this one. With his accent and the slow, instrumental music in the background it is easily one of the best songs on this album. Keep going through the songs and they all have their own up's. Overall the album is easy listening, and very impressive.
