Unsigned Friday - Fli

You guys remember these Friday posts? Yeah, I admit that I've been slacking on these, but while I get a ton of submissions most still do not follow the directions, so they get deleted. Let me say this again. If you are in a band or are an artist, maybe represent one, you need to answer these questions and send them to me. So you'll send the who, what, where, when, why, and biggest moment/random story in the format like you see below. As long as it isn't complete trash, I will post it. This is the type of post for those who maybe the music is a work in progress or just getting started, but isn't quite ready to get some of the bigger exposure as the normal posts. However, this is a great opportunity to get some attention, so if interested send your stuff my way. Now, to return to the Unsigned Friday feature, we have a producer by the name of Fli.

Who: fli, but you can call me Samuel. I'm 21 and in college majoring in things completely unrelated to music. I had a bunch of disposable income in high school to buy production equipment (thanks middle-class parents/upbringing!) and pretty much went from there by producing video game remixes (as The Vagrance), various electronic compositions, and playing in a punk band in high school, which is almost mandatory for musicians it feels like.

What: Everything. I know, I cringed when I wrote it too, but as of late my attention has been turned to hip-hop production that ranges from basic sample-flipping to completely original compositions in the styling's of the late 90's/early 00's era of underground rap.

Where: Knoxville, TN in actuality but Nashville in my heart.

When: From 2004 until my death. I'm starting to get into the habit of dropping songs on my soundcloud once a month or so. In addition, some of my production works are going to be featured on a couple of local mixtapes coming up soon, I have a punk EP I've been working on with an old bandmate that will get wrapped up this summer/maybe early fall, I have my own rap mixtape I'm finishing up this summer that I might never release for the good of society, and I have another collection of beats that will probably be finished by the end of the year.

Why: Because I can't stop.

Biggest Moment: DJing a party and clearing the room in under 3 minutes
