San Francisco has and probably always has been a pretty big scene with music, but lately I've been getting more submissions from the area and the music has been pretty good. A band hailing from this area is Echodrone who make a captivating concoction of dream-pop, shoegaze, and even experimental music. They just released their third album Bon Voyage and the opening track, "Under an Impressive Sky" starts off slow and builds with guitars, but then you get thrown for a curve when you get the light and haunting vocals of singer Meredith Gibbons. The song then breaks down again into some beautiful instrumentation and from that point on I was hooked. Each song is near or over 5 minutes, but you'll find yourself listening to each second with a smile. Listen below.
