Circa Survive took over the emo/alt rock scene back in the mid 2000's and became a huge indie act that would progress to a major label. Even on the major label, the band was still able to retain the soaring vocals of Anthony Green and the experimental instrumentation that always draws the listener in, plus they never compromised their glorious sound. Yet on their brand new album, Violent Waves, they self-released and self-produced their entire record, which makes this album much more memorable. The dedication and passion of Circa Survive over the years has been a great sight and I'm proud to say they are reppin' the Philly area to the fullest.
