Coldplay – "Magic" (AlunaGeorge Remix)

The only time you will see Coldplay being posted on here is when a good remix appears, and luckily for us British duo AlunaGeorge did just that with the track, "Magic." This is the most recent single from Coldplay, but AlunaGeorge made the song much more enjoyable by reworking the track with more electronic and synths.  It's a nice mood setter for the beginning of what is hopefully a short week for most of you, do to the impending 4th of July. Enjoy below.

The Weeknd – "Often"

New song from The Weeknd called Often

Last night, R&B crooner The Weeknd released a new song on his Soundcloud called "Often," which was a great surprise for fans of his. This song is supposedly to be featured on his upcoming project that is in the works and this definitely got people buzzing. The production is a mellow hip hop sound created by Ben Billions that of course is the right compliment for the alternative sound of Abel Tesfaye's vocals. This is the sound you are familiar with The Weeknd and the kind of style you want from him. Stream and download below.

Only a few months ago the world was introduced to the duo known as ACADEMY, but they quickly started racking up plays with their feel good Summer vibes. The pair was quiet in recent weeks, but they were busy finishing up their debut, Moving Methods EP. It features some of the previous jams like "Backyard Haze" and "Closer to Me," but we also get some new songs as well. This 7 track EP is perfect for those lazy Summer day, hosting a party, or kicking it with some friends. Stream the EP below and get a free download right here.

Ab-Soul – These Days… (Album Stream)

Stream Ab-Soul's new album, These Days...

Even though every music blog out there will post the album stream of Ab-Soul's new record, These Days..., I also had to share it. Why? Because Ab-Soul deserves way more credit than he gets sometimes. Lyrically, he might be the best out of the TDE crew, but gets a bit less shine. This album, however has been getting some attention and serious hype, so I think hip hop fans are more open to his record. Support the rapper by snagging this via iTunes.

Tinashe – "Vulnerable" (Sango Remix)

Tinashe is remixed by Sango

When you see Seattle native Sango's name attached to something, you have no choice but to stop what you are doing and listen. The hip hop/electronic producer has graced us with gold over the last year and continues on this remix of Tinashe's "Vulnerable." The sensual R&B tune gets a more haunting sound thanks to the updated production that he wraps around her vocals.

This is why Sango has gotten plenty of attention in the last few months as he pieces together a whole new epic sound. Stream below.

Jamie xx – "All Under One Roof Raving"

Jamie xx All Under One Roof Raving

Music fans go nuts for new music from Jamie xx, who has this ability to fuse all sorts of styles into his productions. Over the weekend he released a preview of "All Under One Roof Raving," which I of course checked out. Yet, I also avoid posting previews and wait until a full track is shared. We didn't have to wait too long, because the full version is here. The experimental tune will most likely be featured on his upcoming solo record, but for now you can get the single via iTunes.

It's hard to really describe the sound on this as it has some tropical vibes, vocal samples, electronic sounds, and ambient tones. It's probably also the beauty of what Jamie xx does as there is no exact genre you can label him because his production style can shift with each track. Stream below via Young Turks.

TCVVX - "Clocks"

TCVVX new song Clocks

There might not be a whole lot of music out there from New York artist TCVVX, but if the single "Clocks" is any indication of what is to come, then he needs to be one to watch. He will soon be releasing a self titled EP that he not only croons on, but produced as well. The music itself blurs the lines of R&B with pop and electronic elements mixed in. I think what is cool about this track is you can't really define what or where his sound will go, which can make for a bunch of interesting songs to come. Stay tuned for more in the near future.

Calvin Harris – "Summer" (Diplo & Grandtheft Remix)

Diplo & Grandtheft remix Calvin Harris Summer

Pretty sure at this point we all know that Calvin Harris is a hit machine, as every song his name is attached to does ridiculously well on the charts. His most recent jam "Summer" gets the remix treatment from Diplo and Grandtheft, who drop a big trap and EDM vibe into it. This version is sure to heat things up at any Summer bash you are throwing, which is exactly what the production pair clearly had in mind. This song bangs.

Broods - "Mother & Father"

Broods new song, "Mother & Father"

The New Zealand brother/sister duo known as Broods captured my attention a few months ago with their grand alt/pop sound. Their latest single is called "Mother & Father," which continues to not only showcase their talents, but that they indeed have the style to stay around for awhile. Their self-titled EP is currently out now, but stay tuned for a debut album in the near future. Love what these two are creating.

It's been a little while since I've posted about Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth, but he is back with a new song called, "Every Square Inch" featuring Qrion. The overall sound is upbeat and has more happy vibes, but it still retains that electronic style that Hemsworth has truly perfected. This should put the right bounce in your step on this Friday, plus it's free to download. Check it out below.

Azizi Gibson - "Smoking with the Gods"

New track from Azizi Gibson

Next up on your hip hop radar should be Brainfeeder signer rapper Azizi Gibson who dropped off a new tune called "Smoking with the Gods." Along with this cut, he mentions that a new EP called Backwards Books will be releasing on July 1st. While I tend to stay away from the marijuana anthems in rap (since they are generally played out), Azizi finds a way to keep my interest in this. Maybe it is the haunting and trippy beat or the way he flows and spits some wild lyrics, either way this one is chill.

Alt-J - "Hunger of the Pine"

New single from Alt-J

British band Alt-J surprised everyone last night with a brand new song called "Hunger of the Pine," which features an interesting Miley Cyrus sample. Yes, you read that right. The song they sample is from Cyrus's "4x4," but it actually compliments the atmosphere of the indie/alt track pretty well. Apparently, the song came together quite quickly but just had this natural feel about it right away. You can stream the song below and you'll find this on their upcoming sophomore album, This Is All Yours.

20syl – “Kodama”

New song/video from 20syl

If producer 20syl hasn't caught your attention yet, maybe his new song and interesting video for "Kodama" will. He is one of a few that are coming from France and really killing it, but they are certainly bringing some new sounds to our ears. This track will be on his upcoming Motifs EP and from what I've heard, he really blurs the lines of hip hop and electronic together. It's a cohesive sound and is a smooth blend.

Yet, the video is highly entertaining as you watch hands produce the track, but you'll be in for a surprise at the end. No big budget here, but it's pulled off perfectly. Check it below.

Mr. Carmack – "Jay Z"

Mr Carmack drops a new one called Jay Z

Hawaiian producer Mr. Carmack released a new track simply called "Jay Z," which takes Hova's guest verse from Beyonce's "Drunk in Love" and flips it over a new instrumental. It retains some pieces of the original too, but Carmack knows where to put a different spin on it. The beat hits a lot harder and actually compliments the lyrics quite well. The only downside to this is that it clocks in under 2 minutes.

LA producer and vocalist ZHU is back with a new official remix of Lana Del Rey's single, "West Coast." On this one, you won't hear his vocal work mixed in, instead you'll get a blend of sounds spanning genres of house, funk, and dance that is both captivating and seductive. Those sexual vibes are thanks to the sultry original vocals of Del Rey, but the production ZHU builds around it takes it to the next level. This track just turned Thursday into a party.

While I haven't posted Manchester native Bipolar Sunshine before, producer Harry Fraud should be a pretty familiar name. He took on the British crooner's song, "Deckchairs on the Moon" and gave it a signature remix featuring some hip hop elements, new drums, and an overall more haunting beat. Yet, it surrounds the original vocals perfectly and sets a nice tone. I also dig that Harry Fraud shows some shine to artists that are not particular super well known, giving fans of his to discover something new. Check out the remix below.

I also was not the only blog to pick up on it, and he racked up some nice plays on Soundcloud.

Gucci Mane - "Party Animal " (Hudson Mohawke Remix)

Well, there is only one way to make a Gucci Mane track even more tolerable and that is having Hudson Mohawke put some magic touches on it. This song is actually over a week old since it was released, but certainly needs some shine on it because its a jam. Based on the track title on HudMo's Soundcloud this was from sometime in 2011, but is now just releasing it. Download As I Am's New Album O

I've been posting about mysterious experimental electronic artist As I Am since early 2012 when it was Big Two-Hearted and was more than one person and they had just released a quirky dropxlife remix. A lot has changed since then: the sound (which arguably changes with each new song), the production has improved, the lyrics have become more potent, and overall As I Am has improved his aesthetic. And all of this time there has been talk of an album, a mixtape, some kind of LP-length release from him. Well, it has finally arrived over two years later. As I Am has released his debut album/mixtape O.

If you've followed As I Am since the beginning you can see how O is a summation of everything he's created up to this point. Before he was getting photo ops with Jay Electronica or could even afford his first drum machine, As I Am was making music by whatever means he could, even with cell phone recordings. The cell phone recording is an important motif in O. It sits right in the mix of the best production As I Am has ever done.

He produced, mixed and mastered this album entirely himself and it is a journey. A journey to where, you ask? "Welcome to my world," he says on the first track "1", and that's all you need to know. There are many things that can be discussed about this album, but at the same time it seems beyond words. There are moments that people will talk about, like the clip of Jay Elect voicing something rather controversial at 2012's Budweiser Made in America Festival over an ominous bass drone in the album's dead center for starters. But, it will probably take many listens for the album to fully reveal itself.

Why only use numbers for titles? Why is it called O? Download the album below and start listening to find out. At this point we still don't know who As I Am is... he could be anybody.

Episode - "Dust (ft. Mree & Topaz Jones)"

Episode is a new duo from New York City that are someone to really pay attention to. "Dust" is their first track, and it's quite the debut. A perfect mix of a female-led pop hook and an alternative hip-hop beat. The rapper's flow is easy and feels just right. Hip-pop is a great genre to make it big, as you can combine the pop hooks that radio loves with hip-hop verses and guest verses. Though they are just starting out, Episode have the right sound and the right idea to make it big, and "Dust" is just the beginning (literally).
